This new moon is a celestial reset. Ruled by Saturn swimming through the early degrees of Pisces, as it makes its second pass through the part of the sky it traversed during its retrograde, we’re getting a second chance. A re-do. A reckoning. What’s worth it? What in your life is worth the dedication, devotion, commitment, and time it takes to create substantial and supportive change in the material world?
Earth signs (Capricorn, Virgo, Taurus) are about the material plane. These are the spaces of physical, tactile, structural, building blocks. Capricorn is a feminine/yin zodiac sign. Ruled by Saturn, here Saturn is matriarch. The link between bodies as seen through the lineage of mothers who hold space within their womb (cancer sits opposite of Capricorn on this polarity axis). We can look at Capricorn as the structures which support life. These systems require care, tending, and repair. They are not perfect models. That is the link between Cancer and Capricorn. At some point we have to realize we’re either building the dreams of our ancestors, or we find ourselves on the mountain, from a unique vantage point of where we came from and where we are going, and we decide that our path is going to honor the past but carve our own direction forward.
Look up. See the vista from where you are. See from the place you are on your path. Take it in. Maybe you are celebrating. Maybe you have made it to a point in your journey that deserves recognition… if that is you, commemorate it. Maybe you are stumbling, the path isn’t clear, the road is blocked. If that is you, take it in. Reflect. How did you get here? Lighten your load, alter your course, plot a new path.
Wherever you find yourself, take in the sights with honest eyes. Breathe in the moment with compassion. Know that you are exactly where you are meant to be. Capricorn can move mountains, because here we know that there is no rush. Each thing we do in our life creates the mountain or breaks it down into new forms. What are you building with your time, your energy, your attention? What is worth your valuable life-force energy? Release anything stagnant, claim the power you hold in your ability to choose what you tend to, to make that choice for yourself. On the mountain the air is thin, clear, sharp, light. Let yourself be filled with the lightness of necessity. Carry on renewed, a new chapter, a new plan, or an old path that just needed new eyes to see it for what it really is. Lighten your load, and smile, no one has ever seen the world precisely the way that you do…
