Venus/Moon + Heart Chakra

December 9, 2023

Venus and the Moon meet at 5° Scorpio, activating the next vestment in the goddess’ descent to meet in the heart of the Sun. The fourth gate activates the heart chakra, where the breastplate of Inanna is removed.

The parable of Inanna’s descent is one of atonement. At the heart chakra we find the balancing point between the seven chakras. The heart is the bridge between the upper & lower energy centers. Central to our connection to aliveness, circulating the life-force within the body, the heart expands outward to encompass our relationship between self & other as well. Through the heart, we co-regulate. We attune to one another, creating a rhythmic relational pulse.

Atonement is etymologically derived from oneness. In this way, forgiveness & the release of the burden of carrying what is not ours becomes the act of removing the false sense of separation which forms out of defense to the moments in life which cause suffering. The power of forgiveness is not the obligation of surrendering oneself to the source of harm as a sacrifice of one’s own power. The power is found in reconciliation with wholeness which emanates in perfect harmony to source itself. As we open the heart, all that is not ours must fall away at the brilliance of true harmony which emerges within the central spinning wheel of spiritual intelligence within the temple of the body. The walls we build to ‘protect’ ourself must be torn down as we outgrow them, less they become the very walls which keep us trapped & separate from our true divine nature, from right relationship, and separate from the compassion necessary to take action in response to injustice. Separate from expressing the infinite creative potential of life… walls fall in the name of the gate of the heart opening.

Being human, of the heart, as beings of choice and free-will, we can often become comfortable with the familiar protection which we cultivate as a response to the harshness of reality. There may have been a great reason for those devices to get us through uncertainty. But now, at this juncture, a moment rises between the breastbone. An uttering, a soft wind, a gentle opening door, a sweet golden light spirals out from the chest. The wind begins to move all that is no longer ours to carry. The metallic golden liquid of the heart, rose gold, of the central sun, fills the space that expands as we release.

When the heart opens, it often brings with it immediate shifts. A heartfelt moment, even the smallest gesture, can leave us beaming. A collective strength arises from the connection we inhabit as the hearts of many synchronize over acts of radical care. Caregiving, coherence. This is the Sacre Coeur. This is an act of courageous, authentic, pure love.

No matter how beautiful the armor, how great the protection of its powers may seem to be, there is no greater power than love. This love will feed our relationships, our community, the beauty of the world around us. It can prompt reverence, dignity, justice and alignment. It can instantaneously change us. That is the promise, if we are willing to open to it.

Yet, most of us resist at this point of the descent. Here we must face the truth of our own pain. We must look at the hurt that caused us to run from love, or to create an illusion of beauty around something so that we don’t have to look at the truth. There is this common fear that by looking at one’s own heart they will have to deal with the hurt. That is true, but once we lay the armor down at the fourth gate, what is left is only what is meant for us. What we must look at is meant for us to learn from, surrender to, and either release or embody. Only that which is true can survive the divine fire of love.

LOVE is a powerful gift, a lazer-focused force. It is only truly impactful if it is shining through a pure heart which is the core (coeur) of every being. You do not need to be perfect, or apply force. It opens for those who honor the sound of truth, for those who take the throne of the higher heart. A bolt of love can be a radical tool when wielded with compassion.

If you have buried your heart in the attachment to your own suffering, if you have created a story that no longer fits against curve of your breast, if you are tired of carrying the armor (no matter how beautiful it shines)… leave it at the gate. Have faith that through the transformational journey of life, there will be moments when you must release the binding and return to source. The armor will be there, revitalized by the essence of your pure heart when it is time to emerge once again. Reshaped, reimagined, along the arc of your story. The strength of the armor has always come from within you, anyways. A free heart is a spark on the wind… one spark might just make all the difference.

blessings!
