Venus + Third Eye
Venus & the Moon meet in the sky in Virgo Tuesday October 10, 2023 at 10:45 AM est.
At the next vestment of Venus, the Third Eye Chakra is opened under the sign of Virgo. With Venus recently moving out of her extended stay in the sign of Leo, this moment offers elegant refinement of the lessons learned through this summer’s Venus retrograde, and a peak into the possibility of strategic editing of one’s visionary path as it stands at this junction.
At 1° Virgo, Venus and the Moon are in opposition to Saturn in Pisces. It’s a reality check, a moment to assess boundaries around the visions we hold for the future. Have you let anything into your mind’s eye that is blocking your view? Are your visions really yours, or have you picked up hubris from a world which pulls your attention in every direction?
Opening the Third Eye Chakra offers the gift of clairvoyance. Intuitive gifts might seem like some far off psychic phenomena, but the truth is that we are all a little bit psychic. When you develop your natural gifts you can transform random & unpredictable psychic information into intuition.
Clear seeing is the ability to visualize something with your imagination, and then attract the circumstances necessary for that image to manifest. For some, this can appear as being a visual learner, having a photographic memory, being able to see the possibilities of a choice before it happens, having premonitions in dreams & waking life, and the ability to perceive energy & otherworldly forces. There are many ways, some unique to you specifically, that this chakra transforms information according to inner sight.
Most of us have access to this gift, but might not realize the potential it holds to shape your life into a guided & visionary expression. Maybe we have been told that what we see isn’t true. Maybe some have been taught to not trust their imagination. When this chakra is healthy and balanced, the imagination becomes a vehicle for new realities to take shape right before our eyes. A healthy third eye chakra becomes a visionary, mastering the strategy of visualization to bring creative & inspired plans through their inner sight & into the world.
The Third Eye Chakra governs the pituitary gland, also known as the master gland of the endocrine system. Every chakra connects to one of the endocrine glands, but the pituitary is known as the master of this system because it has the ability to give support to the other glands by replicating the hormones they produce and producing them in the pituitary to then send them to the gland that is some how not able to fully do it’s job. Naturally, when this gland is functioning and healthy, it lowers the threshold for stress response and soothes the nervous system when other parts of the body need some support.
Amongst the astrology of this moment, later in the day Pluto will station direct at 27° Capricorn, emphasizing power dynamics & unearthing insight which may shape the path ahead. What is revealed in the Capricorn house in our chart may be in some ways requiring us to face the death of something in order to rebirth the vision ahead. It may be that structures in our life are no longer supporting the long term goals we desire, or that there must be a significant clean up in the areas of our life that have been ignored and have accumulated stagnation.
When working with Venus + the Moon transits, I want to invite you all to make your own interpretations of this moment. This particular pattern & correlation of Venus & the Moon symbolically referring to the chakras is one that has quite a lot up for interpretation. First there is the visible study of the planets in the sky, and how they appear to rise and fall along the monthly conjunctions in relationship to Venus’s synodic cycle. Then, there is the suggestion of the chakra system itself. I am currently in an apprenticeship with Cyndi Dale who pioneered a 12 chakra system. There are many traditional systems that use 7 chakras. In my studies, I have come across a variety of interpretations of which gate is activated at which time… and I want to share two alternative views. First is Gary Caton of Dream Astrologer. His interpretation of this gate is that it activates the crown chakra. Another astrologer, Stargazer Li, notes this as the opening of the third eye. What do you think?
