today’s full moon inspiration from some creatives who have a VIRGO sun and a PISCES moon.

The full moon in Pisces arrives September 10, 2022 at 5:59 AM eastern time

the gist of this lunation

Have you ever just known something? Maybe it is a feeling, or possibly a kind of inner voice or nudge towards the truth. ‘the truth just sounds different’. the funny thing about truth is that there is no real measure of what is true for each person, from every perspective… but when you know… you know. Often times that moment of clarity is felt before spoken. Sensed before fully formed.

September’s full moon in Pisces offers one of those moments… where the light of the full moon illuminates something. Possibly wordless. Possibly a dream; vision for the future; a glimmer of what could be.

Maybe it comes in a moment with a simple feeling… fleeting, illusory, but yet… hopeful, and full of promise if you were bold enough to lean in just a little.

How well are you listening to your instincts? Does your inner compass point towards a direction that seems well beyond the scope of where you are now? Are you right on track, or are you in need of some course correction?

check yes / no

Keeping it simple and sweet, with this full moon I offer you a practice I learned from an energy healer in the Blueridge Mountains of North Carolina.

Inspired by the phenomena of Kinesiology or applied Kinesthetics, this simple exercise can be done anywhere, anytime. This practice is also called Muscle Testing, and has been used in a variety of alternative medicine settings ranging from allergy/nutritional testing to therapy. Here’s the version I learned back in the day.

  1. Drink Water. Muscle testing relies on you body’s ability to respond to yes/no questions. Your muscles answer for you! Being hydrated helps your body respond with more clarity.

  2. Stand up tall, with you feet comfortably about hips width apart.

  3. Begin to teach your body what a “yes” is, and what a “no” is. Simply do this by rocking slightly forward while you say/think the word ‘YES’, and rocking/leaning slightly back while saying or thinking the word ‘NO’.

  4. Once you feel comfortable recognizing the muscular sensation of a forward pull for ‘yes’ and a backward pull for ‘no’… begin to test this. As yourself simple yes/no questions. Example… my name is ____ … notice what happens with your body, do you lean forward? You can try this for anything. Ask yourself questions that you know are a ‘no’ to experience what that feels like as well. Example… pick up a penny and ask yourself, “Is this a quarter?” See how your body responds.

  5. Once you feel comfortable with your body’s ability to answer questions, you can ask yourself anything.Do I really want this Lavender Kombucha?’… you get the idea!

The more you practice this and develop a sensation for what a yes feels like in your body, and what a no feels like… the more subtle and accessible this will be for you. This tool is helpful for any moment when you may be feeling uncertain about a choice.

By trusting in your body, you are leaning into a kind of trust that doesn’t make rational sense… but is felt/understood on a deeper level. When things get confusing, and lines start to blur, you can always lean in to that deeper knowing available to you at all times.

Astrology to note

Mercury (communication, messages, transportation) is now retrograde, September 9-October 2. Mercury will start its retrograde in Libra and venture back into Virgo on September 24)

Mars (desire, direction, drive) is in its pre-retrograde shadow, meaning things that come up between September 4, 2022-March 16, 2023 will be revisited in some way or another.

As Mars will be in the sign of Gemini for quite some time, Mercury (the ruler of Gemini) will play an important role in Mar’s retrograde cycle.

In the upcoming months, we are being asked to be open to change, to recalculate our plans and methods of reaching goals.

this full moon invites a moment of reflection:

what does it feel like to know what is right for you? what makes sense beyond the rational?

a preview of pisces

a mutable water sign, Pisces represents the interconnectedness of all life. compassionate, flowing, forgiving, creative, dreamers… Pisces planets live in their feels, often picking up the feelings and impressions of the world around them, too. Water signs go deep, as they speak to the emotional realms.

a thing about pisces: this sign rules the feet

I had a strange dream last week. I woke in the middle of the night dreaming of the sole of the foot. I kept hearing the phrase ‘bellies of the foot’ repeated in my dream. Upon writing the dream down it made me think about Virgo ruling digestion and Pisces ruling the feet. So from the dream world to you…

go outside barefoot and stand on the earth! it’s called earthing.

It does raise a question though… why feet? Pisces is known for being porous, soaking up the vibes. Sometimes, that can lead to a distorted sense of boundaries of self and other. The feet connect us back to a feeling of groundedness. Pisces also rules the lymphatic system, meaning that the two types of energy that circulate for Pisces have to do with a continuous cycle of absorbing and clearing. the process of being alive requires you to come into contact with life, let it move through you, and the very nature of the human body has systems for cleansing energetic debris, and the toxins that circulate through the lymph before leaving the body through sweat ect. (which makes me think of this poignant post made by Emmalea Russo on substacks from the Virgo new moon two weeks ago.) With the Sun in Virgo and the Moon in Pisces, this is a sweet reminded that you were made to be a part of the Earth. That maybe, your feet do connect to the soil, in a way that isn’t so rational (as far as science may seem to take us), and maybe the other thing about Virgo season has a little something to do with energetic hygiene, on top of all the material we usually relate to the Virgo parts of the chart.

During this Virgo season, we get the added bonus of the Pisces full moon being known as the harvest moon. The Harvest Moon farmers almanac, is unique in that it rises at about the same time each night along the northern hemisphere (between September 9-11) making it seem to stay at peak brightness for longer… three nights of full moon energy.

So… take this time to feel, deeply. and release, gently. do earth things. garden barefoot, or take an epsom salt bath. say a little prayer of gratitude. dream a little. believe in something, and the let go of needing it to be perfect. it’s all just right.

Sending you all lots of LOVE on this wishful full Moon.

xx,

Alexandria
